After completing his studies in Sociology and Anthropology in Glasgow and living and working in Japan for 5 years Andrew began his career in the UK government. Roles covered policy in the water and housing sectors before moving into international relations and then trade and investment in the technology and smart cities sector. Following a role in Huawei working in sales and marketing and founding a data analytics startup Andrew took up a senior role at the Connected Places Catapult designing and delivering programmes for cities around the world, with a particular focus on the Asian markets. Andrew is now a Director at the Expo City Urban Lab. His role covers strategy through to delivery as well as engagement for the Lab as they look to drive innovative practices and solutions into the market to help Expo City deliver on its aspirations to be a global lighthouse in sustainability and innovation in the city space.
